Driver Ready: what is being built for Canadian gig and delivery drivers
A development preview of Driver Ready and the record-organizing problems the app is intended to solve.
A clearer place for driver records
Driver Ready is in development for people doing rideshare, delivery and similar app-based driving work in Canada. The goal is to reduce the amount of information scattered across notes, photos, mileage records and spreadsheets.
Planned record areas
The project is being built around mileage, income, expenses, receipts and year-based books. The intention is to help a driver review what has been recorded and what may still need attention before year-end or a conversation with an accountant.
Multi-year organization
Earlier Book Years are intended to remain separate from the current year, with controls that help protect records that have already been reviewed or used for filing. Corrections to locked prior years are designed to be handled deliberately rather than silently rewriting history.
Backup and sync
Like Budget Tracker, Driver Ready is being designed around local device storage with optional account and encrypted Cloud Sync features. Supporting documents can be large, so the shared sync architecture separates encrypted attachments from the smaller data snapshot.
Not tax advice
Driver Ready is an organizational tool. It is not a tax filing service and does not replace the Canada Revenue Agency, an accountant or other qualified professional. Rules and calculations shown in the app need to be reviewed against the relevant year and the user's own circumstances.
Status: Coming soon. Features described here may change before public release.
